Giant Killing Review

When the coach got the main character

I just finished an anime called Giant killing. When you heard the title, you may think about super power or some kind of fantasy story. The trusth is, the anime told the story about football league, of course in Japan. The main character is the coach. Before become the coach, he also a player who play according his instinct. I know this anime from a domestic teve. It on episode 07. I feel like the style so I decided to download this series.

The story begin when he was called back to Japan from England. He made a bigshot because when he handle it, that weak team can defeat the strong team. He just have the philosophy that player have to enjoy when they play football. When that happens, they can play better and the result would be satisfied.

His new team called ETU (East Tokyo United). ETU begin the new season with some losts, some wins and some draws. When draw happens, the true character of the player appeared. Thats the starting point to unite the real team and the team will developt the bond. After that draw, ETU get lost again and they will facing the unbeatable team, Gunner. After lost two goal on the first half, ETU can turn around the table on the second half become 3-2 on their win. Its unbeliavable outcome for everyone.

The anime is very very confused on language using because some of coaches come from another country such as Netherland, and... I forget. I am sorry. Some of the players come from Brazil and Netherland. They use their language on the field. It makes some funny scenes when Japanese players have to interact with them. Even they dont understand each others, they know when they are become the joke core, such as baldy head and weird hair style. Its really fun to watch that kind of interaction.

In this anime, we can learn how to be come good supporters. They dont make fighting with another supporter, do not make any ruckus. They just yell, all out to support their teams. They also put some spirits into their yells so that voice can reach the player’s hearts. The main point from the supporters is the club costume. Its really weird to support the team without using their costume.

The bad side is, this anime do not continue until ETU get the first rank on the season but after you see the development of the team, you must be sure that ETU would get the winner trophy. Another bad news, I still do not want to watch a match on the stadium. It will waste my money and my precious time. OK no offence. Its just my personal think. If you a fan or a supporter of a football team, do what you need to do. I just want to warn you that supporter’s job is to support, not to make chaos in the middle of the macth, not to make garbages on the stadium or on the field and support the team to do a fair play. The supporters have to deal and accept the outcome from the macth without anarchy and some kind activity.
