This story uses basketball
sport as the main theme. At first, you may think that the story will be boring.
But the main character make the story very very interesting. Sakuragi Hanamichi
believes that he is a tensai, jenius man. But of course, it just his point of
view. Hanamichi is trouble maker and make fighting as his hobby.
He also has legendary number
of rejected by woman. One day, he likes a girl. The girl likes basket ball
because his older brother is a basket ball captain. Then, Hanamichi started
playing basket to get attention that girl.
Hanamichi plays basket
without knowing any rules. It makes him become jokes basket on the field. But
his will to play basket is very big. He learns and learns. He also practices
every day. In short time, he can master the basic way of basket ball. Everyone
started to realize the ability from Hanamichi. But they still refuse to say
that Hanamichi is a tensai basketman.
Sometimes, Hanamichi gets
cool scene from the games but almost his appeareances make him just like a
joker/clown on the field. His team has undergone some hardships to become a
strong one. Member in and out. Conflict with ex-member, Mitsui and arrogant new
member, Rukawa. That’s really makes that team seem alive. He makes that new arrogant member as his
rival. In basket game and in get attention the targetting girl. Rukawa himself
didn’t see Hanamichi as his rival. Rukawa underestimaed Hanamichi because his
level is very very high. He was a MVP once. That’s the reason his ability is
beyond normal player. He just lack in
stamina so he can play all time in the field.
Hanamichi makes their
nickname bases on their faces, including member from another team. For example,
His captain is called Gori, come from Gorilla because the face resembles a
gorilla.
Besides his learning ability,
Hanamichi has the real deal to be a player, STAMINA. That’s his plus point
among his team. His ability become crusial point when it comes to REBOUND. He
was told that who dominated rebound, he was dominated the game. That’s the
starting time when he wanted to be the king of rebound.
His real will awaken after
his team defeated by the number one team in their district. He cuts his red
hair an become bald. His friends called him as Red Buddha.
The story from the Anime is
different from the manga. The complete game can be read on manga. Even the
result is not like you imagine, it still satisfied (for me) because his team
can beat the unbeatable national team.
The last advice, if you
search an entertaining anime, this anime can be a choice. I am sure you will
not pass the episode without a laugh, even just a smile. The character designs
are very cool. You wont regret to watch this series. Even you don’t know any
rules from the basket ball sport, you can follow this series. Theres an expert
additional character to explain the way to play basket ball.
